The chairman of Saffron Export Development Fund informed about the export of saffron to USA and said: “we hope to tie new contracts for developing export of saffron to USA in near future.”

IFIF Public Relations- The chairman of Saffron Export Development Fund said: “we are hoping for future contracts with USA in the field of saffron export development. We exported 20 kg saffron to USA and it was a pilot test. We exported the mentioned saffron to California.”

“We hope with opening the gates for exporting saffron to California, we can witness increase in the volume of export of saffron and new contracts in the field.” He said.

The Head of Agriculture Commission in Khorasan Razavi said: “Iranian Saffron is proper and standard with international certificates and some of the Iranian reputable companies registered their product in Unites States organization of food and drugs.”

“USA market is one of the average markets in Arab countries, but if we can have presence in this international market, we can own the market in long term. We can reach the export volume to several tons to USA with a proper vision.”

Shariati Moghaddam noted that approximately 150 tons of dried saffron from Iran is exported to 50 countries around the world./s
